Come Take a Lesson!
Nicole is an experienced educator, and has taught voice and piano privately to students of all ages and levels. If you have no experience with music, have sung in choir or performed in musicals, like to write your own songs, are pursuing a musical career, or just enjoy it as a hobby: anyone can benefit from private lessons.
No two students are the same, so no two lessons are the same. Nicole works hard to create a personalized lesson experience based on your desires and goals as a student, as well as your experience level.

FAQs
Is my child too young for voice lessons?
7 is usually the youngest age I will offer regular voice lessons. That is still fairly young, so at that age lessons are focused on general musicianship, basic breathing techniques, and giving kids a safe space to sing. For students younger than 7 who want voice lessons, I recommend piano lessons instead so they can learn how to read music, but will incorporate small amounts of basic breathing and singing work along with piano.
Am I too old to start lessons?
Absolutely not! Even if you think you are "tone deaf" or have never played an instrument in your life, if you are patient and consistent, you can learn.
I want to take voice lessons, but I want to sing pop songs, not classical or musical theatre.
We can do that! I have many students who work on genres like pop, singer-songwriter, country, rock, or even their own songs they wrote. Voice lessons can help any genre, not just classical. When we work on these genres, our biggest goal is control. I have my students break down the different techniques they hear in the music (e.g. purposeful breathiness, growls, whines, riffs, etc.) and then we learn how to reproduce and control those sounds, so you can employ them whenever you chose.
I want to learn voice and piano. Do I need to pick one?
Not at all! We can either do split lessons, splitting the lesson time in half, or switch off every week. The price of lessons is the same.
I don't want regular lessons, just a few to prepare for an audition / performance.
That is absolutely fine. I do not require any certain amount of lessons as a minimum.
I'm a singer and I want to learn some piano, but mainly to help my singing.
Learning some basic piano as a singer is incredibly important. Not only will it help you read music, but also play out your part, practice harmonies, and potentially play some of your accompaniment while you practice. For these students, we follow a slightly different path than those just wanting to learn piano. After the basics of reading music are covered or reviewed, we focus on chords, sight reading, reading vocal accompaniment, and other useful skills for a singer. This type of work can be combined with voice lessons as well.
